Shadowrun je kyberpunková science-fantasy hra z blízké budoucnosti („Šestém světě“) Země, ve které se probudila magie a mýtické bytosti, takže moderní technologie, virtuální sítě a dystopický svět ovládaný všemocnými korporacemi se mísí s magií, tradičními fantasy rasami, draky a jinými prvky fantasy. Svět ovládají megakorporace, které na špinavou práci využívají „shadowrunnery“ – kriminální živly bez legální identity. Hráči na sebe berou role těchto „runnerů“ a jako mágové, deckeři (hackeři celosvětové virtuální sítě zvané Matrix) nebo kyberneticky vylepšení pouliční samuraji plní nejrůznější úkoly.

Hele, lidičky, hrajete vůbec ještě někdo pravidelně SR 4e? Máte své partičky runnerů a vychytaný svět? Totiž, od doby, co jsem si 4e pořídil, což bylo asi tak pár měsíců po tom, co ta pravidla vyšla, se nám naše parta rozutekla po všech končinách republiky a já bych si tak rád zahrál...

Annie grew up in the slums, and joined a hippie commune when she was fourteen. You would say that such a thing can't possibly survive in the Sixth World, but as their leader Martin was a powerful magician, the gangs left them alone. Their leader was also very handsome and had a smile now girl could resist. Annie spent her days making natural remedies they exchanged for food, singing, dancing, and doing everything she could for their leader. And she as happy there, until she had that weird dream.

She was in the middle of a forrest, and a bear appeared in front of her. Big and old one, with patches of grey fur, and eyes glowing with strange intelligence.
"You realize that guy is a total douche, right? Using you like this," it said.
"What?" said Annie, because hey, dream-bears are not supposed to talk that way.
"You're still a cub," the bear sighed. "But that's not how you treat cub. Making you meat-puppet."
"Now aren't you one smug dream-bear," Annie said, completely baffled.
The Bear smiled. "Right. Now let me show you something."

And when Martin aimed his smile at her next time, the smile no girl could resist, the smile he tend to get tired after, she saw it for what it was, a mind control spell. And saw Martin for what he was, slimy man in his forties, cult leader with a harem of brainwashed young women and guys serving as disposable soldiers and bodyguards. She saw the lies. The "remedies" that were actually drugs, the disappearances of past members who disagreed with Martin on something, the meetings with gang emissaries the back rooms.

She countered the spell, and being really angry, tried to hit him with her mind. It felt like hitting a brick wall, and suddenly she was in a world of hurt. Because, of course, Martin being a powerful mage was not a lie. He didn't kill her, just threw her out, saying that she was working for the corps all along. The others believed him, as he was Martin, right? Leaving, crying blood (manabolt does that to you), the Bear appeared before her once more then. "Good work, cub," he said, "now go ahead and get strong. I'll have a work for you, then."

So Annie needed a place to stay, clothes and most of all, an ID. She met an a guy she knew before her cult time, and once she let on she was a mage, he said that sure, his friends can take care of that. His friends being the Russian Mob. They got her an ID, some commlink and a gun (and laughed about the latter two being a "standard issue for her types" whatever that ment), and some money.

The money are running out now, though, and being conscripted by a Mob doesn't seem like a good idea. But the Shadows seem like a good place to get some, and get stronger at the same time. Not just for the Bear, mind you, there are some cult leaders that need to get their asses kicked you know.

Premyslim jestli to, ze ta sipkova pistole kterou mela Molly v Neuromancerovi je asi nejlepsi pistole ve hre nahodou, omylem, nebo je to loving homage.

Ešte k Shadowrunu: na mechaniky nadávali "noví hráči", teda tí, ktorí do toho prišli až teraz. Tí veteráni si hrajú po svojom starým štýlom, lebo sú extrémne zvyknutí na mechaniky a reálne nehrali nikdy nič iné, čiže nevedia porovnať a vlastne ani nechcú, lebo nevidia pridanú hodnostu.

Alef0 mluvi o vsech edicich, soude z toho, ze nespecifikoval druhou. (o tom jak je SR za zenitem ani nemluve).

Ale nejvic me nebavil ten styl argumentace odkoukany od alnaga obhajujiciho ctvrtou edici.
